I feel like this weekend had been Christmas in October because I was able buy these. They are applique scissors, and why in the world I have not bought them sooner I have no idea.
They are AWESOME. The go hand-in-hand with embroidery. So, no instead of printing out the design, cutting it, then tracing in on to my fabric, then cutting the fabric, then trying to adhere it to my stabilizer and make sure the machine picks up all the edges...sheesh, that was so much work and it sounds so complicated. But not anymore, yae!
Just stitch out the outline of my design, put a piece of fabric over it, then stitch the outline on fabric and then cut around the stitches with these scissors. It makes a nice close edge to the stitches.
So, of course I have been in applique turbo mood now. I just want to do all sorts of projects. This one was my first. My sister-in-law Erin introduced me to a super cute website called Planet Applique and I am hooked (Thanks Erin!). GREAT PRICES too.
I found these designs for 0.99 cents each.
And I even created my own piping strips, something I have never done before. WOOT. I love when I try something new and it actually works!
They fit just perfectly on Michele's little chair.
These bring the number of my Halloween decor items up to 3 (I don't like to get a whole lot of extra stuff right now because we are just going to have to move it out in a few years).
